Hi, we're back! I almost thought we wouldn't be but here we are. I totally lost interest in the computer after we came home from Family Camp and now it's already September. I can't believe the kids are back in school ~ summer really flew by!!
Just a little update ... Rachelle made it home from camp on August 16th. After working as a Counsellor for four weeks and then having a break with us at Family Camp she decided to stay an extra two weeks to help out with the rest of Family Camp (Camp Kahquah has 3 weeks of Family Camp). She really enjoyed her time up at camp this summer and it was especially a time of spiritual growth for her ~ for those of you who prayed for and supported her, THANK YOU so much!! As for Sonja, Jordan and Melissa ... Sonja got quite a lot of hours working at the pharmacy this summer and spent time with friends; Jordan also hung out with a couple of his friends and earned some money juggling at the market and at Marshville Heritage Festival this past weekend; Melissa played almost every day with her two friends who live across the street. The kids did a lot of swimming and Jordan and Melissa both also enjoyed a week of kids camp at Camp Kahquah.
Back to school ... this year Rachelle is in grade 12, her last year of High School! Sonja is in grade 11, Jordan grade 8 (Extended French) and Melissa decided to go back to her old school ~ she's in grade 6 this year. Last year she was at the same school as Jordan, but she found the French program rather difficult, although her marks overall weren't that bad. She enjoys learning French but to do all of her subjects in French was a bit overwhelming for her. She thought about it for sometime already but just decided a few days ago. Jordan still thrives in the program, however, and he enjoys the challenge. This is his last year at his school but he can continue the French program in High School if he wants to.
Anyway ... backtracking again, I finally made a slideshow of some of our pictures from camp. The last time we went to Family Camp was 6 years ago and we camped in our tent trailer. This time because Harv was the speaker (just for the one week) we were provided accommodation in the lodge. Our tent trailer bit the dust anyway so we no longer have adequate camping gear. We had a really great time and Harv was awesome as 'Camp Pastor!' He led the staff in devotions every morning before breakfast and also preached in Chapel at 10:00 a.m. The theme of his messages came from John 7:37-38 where Jesus says ...'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.' Harv is an excellent speaker, if you've never heard him before. As you will see by the video we enjoyed a lot of activity during the week. It was a wonderful time ~ we were very blessed!!

That songs always brings tears to my eyes, but especially as I reflected back over the great memories we made attending family camp with our kids. I sure miss those days! Looks like you had a wonderful time :)
